We created a mortgage-based real-estate search engine for properties in Germany. Given the net income available per month and the savings amount, a user would find properties based on mortgages he/she would get and could actually afford. We had more than 200.000 flats and houses in our database (web-scraped) and would enrich each of those by providing additional information based on the geo-location of the building, e.g. how far the closest supermarkets, doctors, or train stations are. Based on the (financial) information provided from the user, we would also compare mortgage offers of more than 400 banks and, if requested, proceed with the application for our users.

The largest project I worked on during my time at the company was rebuilding the core system from scratch, which included months of planning, conceptualization, prototyping and testing, before the actual implementation phase started. I worked from the beginning to the end and helped in all of the above mentioned aspects. Apart from that, I had my own responsibilities for parts in the frontend- and backend-codebase. We followed SCRUM and collaborated using GitLab, Jira and Notion.
