For our client in Freiburg we are currently looking for a AI Expert (m/f/d).

Duration: 6 Months

Location: 100% Freiburg i.Br.

Capacity: Full-Time


Tasks

* Implement novel techniques for training and fine-tuning Transformer models.
* Optimize existing Transformer architectures to enhance performance metrics such as accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
* Conduct experiments and empirical studies to evaluate the effectiveness of various training strategies and hyperparameters.
* Collaborate with software engineers to integrate optimized Transformer models into production systems.
* Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Transformer-based architectures and contribute to the scientific community through publications and presentations.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the AI team.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
* Proven experience in training and fine-tuning Transformer models, particularly in natural language processing applications.
* In-depth understanding of deep learning principles, including neural network architectures, optimization algorithms, and regularization techniques.
* Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or FastAI.
* Strong programming skills in Python and experience with SW development.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a creative approach to overcoming challenges in AI research.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* A track record of innovation and a passion for pushing the boundaries of AI technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with large-scale distributed training of deep learning models.
* Familiarity with platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
* Knowledge of additional machine learning techniques beyond deep learning, such as reinforcement learning or probabilistic graphical models.
* fluent in German
