At Shell I worked as a Supportability and Transition Management Lead (S&TM Lead).
In this role I represented IT Operations in IT projects / programs and assured that secure and reliable operations can be provided at moment of Golive.
As workstream lead I would assure that before GoLive, The service meet our business’ functional and non functional expectations and that the IT Operations budget, Support model, KT, Training, Documentation, Processes, Tools and any underpinning contractual documents are in place.
During my seven years in this role, I have been S&TM lead for 80+ Application Project / Programs. Mostly for Global Applications, Regularly Business Critical Applications and regularly with multi year strategic project. Some examples:
- OneShell – Participate in selection of new Managed Service Provider for All Shell Websites. Transition to new service provider, embedding SuperPrime Service in existing Master Services Agreement.
- Track & Trace – Participate in sourcing and selection of Supply Chain Management System. Transition to service provider
- Global Learning Management System - Development of new software solution and transition into managed service contract
- Global Physical Access Security Systems – Implementation central platform, processes, tools en design and implementation of global support model for the deployment of PACS system to Shell locations. (300+ locations, 10000+ devices, 400000+ consumers),
Besides my primary S&TM lead role, I have also provided significant contributions in maturing the S&TM discipline and tools within Shell. For instance, within Shell Global Functions I was the SaaS/ASP focal point, developed the SaaS operating model framework and wrote the guide for S&TM leads to participate in sourcing selection activities. One of my last contribution was to create an animated video training series on IT Support Model Design and Business Engagement.

The ManpowerGroup is a global provider of workforce solutions.
While working as a project manager for the Dutch division of Manpower, I was responsible for the following projects.
--- Implementation of DirectTalent Jobboard. The Group had started a Global Initiative to strengthen the capabilities for attracting and retaining workforce talent, Utilizing Internet technologies. Interesting new aspect for me in this project for me was that there was also a large part of business change involved where I was responsible for. We spend a good amount of thinking on how to embed the new tool and the philosophy with it at all levels in the organisation.
--- Development and Implementation of Management Information (KPI) Dahsboard. Manpower wanted a KPI dashboard which could visually show business performance on key metrics of Manpower Netherlands. Cognos was selected as BI platform to achieve this and the solution was developed in house. Key challenge in this project was that while building the integration layer we discovered that not every source system used the same metrics and calculation methods, and that these first needed to rationalized and source systems adjusted.

Koninklijke KPN NV (KPN) is an integrated ICT service provider. KPN offers data broadband services, IPTV services, mobile (voice, data and SMS) and fixed line telephony.
As Transition Manager in KPN I was responsible for transitioning the support for new strategic corporate customers’ services from projects to IT operations.

InterAccess is an IT Services Company mainly focussed on the Dutch Government, Education, Healthcare and Finance markets.
As a Project Manager at InterAccess I was responsible for the development of an Online Desktop Service and for the Bid Management of a number of successful awarded bids to Public Procurement Request of Dutch Government Offices.

Multrix is one of the first Dutch SaaS and Cloud Services providers “avant la lettre”, with a long history of SaaS-i-fying office productivity and business application functionality.
As a Project Manager at Multrix, I helped develop and deliver (50+) SaaS/ASP services. Mostly on request of our clients, we would collaborate with an application developer or vendor to make their product available online utilizing the Multrix services. Often we were the first to try this with their product. Examples of projects I was responsible for are:
--- Development and European deployment of managed desktop and business application services (10+ countries, 20+ locations, 100+ users). Transition to centralized online service and deployment to sites for Europe’s largest distributor for the Composite Industry. After of the application landscape to the transition to the Multrix datacenters, we where able to able to bring a new sales office online for our client only needing two days of effort of a Multrix engineer.
--- The development and Global deployment of a managed vpn/firewall service. Rollout to ~40 countries and ~60 locations. Our client had selected an application to consolidate the financials for their operating companies. In most locations the local infrastructure was not complete, or completely not under their control;). Our client approached us for a deployment solution. We developed four variants, describing the prerequisites, advantages, risks and costs for each set-up. We contacted the sites to gather technical information and a local IT contact. We successfully implement within 3 months and for under eur. 50K.
--- Presales, Service Design and Service Transition of a Outsourcing contract for the total IT Operation and Assets of a Dutch based globally operating media company (1200+ Users)
--- Service Design and Service Transition for a Dutch Association of Notaries. (500+ users, 25+ applications)
