Alexander is product designer and founder of WERK-m Design Agency, providing design and consulting services with a strong focus on the user’s experience, especially in the medical and laboratory field. Alexander knows how to bring highly aesthetics design concepts in line with manufacturing requirements. On one hand he is a service provider and on the other hand he is your partner and link between your customers, R&D, Marketing and Engineering. His design results meet the zeitgeist and are yet timeless elegant. Alexander’s wholistic view of product developments starts with research and ideation, moves on with 3D CAD surface modeling and realization and ends with high end photorealistic renderings and product animations. Alexander acquired vast design experience during his work life as industrial designer and design manager due to his close collaboration with industrial clients such as Siemens, Draeger Medical, Sartorius Stedim Biotech, I.E.M., GE-Appliances, Ulrich Medical, Oster, Otis, Sunbeam, Johnson & Johnson, Smith & Nephew, Compaq, Iomega and others.
Prior to WERK-m, Alexander was Cofounder and managing partner of the Corpus-C Design Agentur, co-leading the design team with an everyday focus on customer satisfaction. Before that, he worked at the designaffairs GmbH, first as design manager, later on as key account manager for the Draeger Medical client.
Alexander started his professional design career in 1998 at Fitch Inc. in Boston, a major Design Consultancy in the US and UK. Between 1998 and 2001, Alexander got to know the „American way of life" and developed a good sense for the American market and the American design expectation. His work culminated into numerous awards including RedDot, IF Award, and IDEA. He studied Industrial Design at the Muthesius Hochschule in Kiel, Germany, spent one semester at the Macintosh School of Art in Glasgow, Scotland and was a visiting Associate Professor at the Rhein-Sieg-Akademie.
