Projekt‐ & Berufserfahrung

PhD Candidate - Researcher
Heidelberg University and Robert-Bosch Hospital, Heidelberg
4/2016 – 6/2018 (2 Jahre, 3 Monate)
Hochschulen und Forschungseinrichtungen
Tätigkeitszeitraum

4/2016 – 6/2018

Tätigkeitsbeschreibung

I mainly worked on large motion datasets captured in experiments from human subjects. I wrote computer programs in Matlab software in order to develop algorithms to measure needed parameters according to dynamical models of human movement. And I further managed large datasets and statistically analyzed large measured data in SAS software.
I published two original papers in high prestigious journals.

Tätigkeitsbeschreibung

I worked in the virtual worlds research group in the computer sciences department of Utrecht University. The main project was focused on investigating falling and balance during walking in healthy people. The result of this study is useful for diagnosis and prevention programs in older or unhealthy people.
I designed and ran a motion capturing experiment o investigate the interference of stair walking and dual-tasking. In this experiment which was captured in motion capturing lab, the participants walked on a stair at different inclinations and concurrently performed a secondary task. Reflective markers were attached at their anatomical landmarks. Using the trajectory of these markers (time series 3D data) I assessed extracted desired parameters and further analyze them in order to assess the performance of subjects under different experimental conditions. I wrote corresponding programs in Matlab software and further statistically analyzed the results using SPSS software.
This project resulted in a scientific publication in a highly prestigious journal.

Tätigkeitsbeschreibung

I modeled spinal muscular system using numerical finite element modeling in ANSYS software to investigate low back pain. I wrote programs using APDL programing language of ANSYS. Further, I simulated clinical cases using this model including spasm of muscles and the effect of pregnancy.
This project resulted in scientific publications.

Tätigkeitsbeschreibung

I developed and implemented algorithms to extract 3D geometry of Spinal vertebra using two planar (2D) radiographic images of the spinal column. This method can be used for diagnosis and treatment of spinal deformities while reducing radiation dose by using radiographic images instead of CT images. I used MATLAB software in this project and a scientific publication was extracted as the result.

Tätigkeitsbeschreibung

I developed and implemented mathematical algorithms to automatically extract specific anatomical landmark using radiographic images of Knee and MATLAB software. These landmarks can be used in the diagnosis of Knee joint problems as well as planning of total knee arthroplasty surgeries.
I also published a scientific paper extracted from this project.
