Influence of material on forced fracture of turbine wheels
• The task is to find a suitable material modeling for the turbine wheel to correctly predict the
behaviour of a containment simulation using ANSYS.
• Improved post-processing and comparison with test data, created a new material data card.
• Creep simulation and other fracture criterion for the materials.
• Minimized the correction factor used by 4%.

Über mich

I am a Master Mechatronics student at Hochschule Ravensburg Weingarten currently pursuing my Master Thesis at Continental Automotive GmbH in the field of modelling and simulation of dynamic and structural parts. Topic of my thesis is Influence of material on forced fracture of turbine wheels, which includes testing of turbine wheels of a
turbocharger for containment test on ANSYS. The task is to find a suitable material modeling for the turbine wheel that correctly predicts the change in this behavior. This topic is helping me gain analyst level expertise in thermal andstructural calculations also to work with LS-DYNA and Abaqus.

My interest towards mechanical design, simulation and structural analysis is since my Engineering days. I feel tools like CATIA and ANSYS give me the power to engineer the world in 3D and lets me put my imagination to work. My first major experience in simulation was during my Bachelor thesis at Bosch Ltd., Bengaluru on Test Setup Design and Development On 3D-vibration Test Bench for Super Chargers using CATIA V5 and ANSYS.

I have had different opportunities to increase my knowledge on various applications of CAD and CAE. The internship at Continental Automotive GmbH, Regensburg included thermal simulation of blades of turbochargers using ANSYS and the internship at Cooper Standard, Lindau, included both the testing of vehicle door sealing systems with the Zwick / Roell testing machine and the correlation of test results with FEM calculations. I have also worked on Construction of the chassis frame with CATIA V5 and the analysis of the designed frame with ANSYS in a national level competition, SAE Efficycle - Electric/Mechanic Hybrid Tricycle. A certification course, Diploma in Product Design and Analysis, on CATIAV5 and ANSYS was an added advantage.

I have been working on mechanical simulation and design from quite a lot of years and each day I am growing more confident in this field. I am pretty sure that with the interest I have in this field and the experience gained from all these years, I will be able to contribute to the team and expand my knowledge. I worked as a Testing Engineer at Accenture after obtaining my bachelor's degree. In addition, I am proficient in using all common MS Office programs and speak business fluent English and very good German(B1).
