Peter Herdt & Söhne GmbH & Co KG was a major independent bottler within the Coca-Cola bottling network. As sales manager, I was responsible for all commercial results of the sales department. Beginning in 1994, I reported to the general manager and board of directors. I was responsible for all sales and marketing activities , P/L performance, budgeting, recruiting and training sales staff, coordinating with national brand managers and key account managers, coordinating with production, logistics and all supply chain elements, and procurement of technology. I was responsible for grocery channels, convenience, restaurant, distributors and vending. I created an export department for EU trading and handled U.S. government sales. I had the opportunity to work on projects in Europe, North America and Australia during this time.

I assisted three major external audits and two restructuring initiatives. Between 1993 and 2006, the company acquired several subsidiaries, and I assisted with each M/A process and integration. Beginning in 2004, we prepared to sell the company to Coca-Cola Erfrischungsgetränke AG and restructured work processes to be inline with CCEAG standards.

In 2007, Peter Herdt & Söhne GmbH & Co KG was acquired by CCEAG, and I accompanied the process of integrating the firm into the CCEAG business. As the independent Coca-Cola bottlers were integrated into the CCEAG system, we merged all business functions and restructured the sales force to be inline with CCEAG processes. I continued on as sales manager of the Rhein Main Region until leaving the company in 2010.

CCEAG is now a shining star in the global portfolio of Coca-Cola.

During my tenure within the Coca-Cola family, my sales team won the following awards:

I continued working as the assistant to the Finance Manager of parts and accessories. We developed a range of process improvements for the supply chain and evaluated the economic impact of various measures. We improved the dealer supply process for parts and accessories and implemented procurement programs designed by the famous Mr. Lopez.

Upon completion of my studies, I was hired full-time by Adam Opel AG as a procurement specialist in the global parts and accessories business. I was responsible for 3000 components sourced from North American and European Suppliers. This was an exciting business, and I developed an ongoing passion for automotive technology during this time. The prime reason that I left the automotive branch was that the main focus of my educational background was international marketing and sales, and at the time, I found the best opportunities for practicing my skills within the field of consumer goods.

I offer a wide range of international management experience developed over 20+ years working at executive level. I have completed extensive projects in EMEA, North America, Australia and Latin America. I have experience in automotive industry supply chain, government procurement, defense industry, consumer goods and technology segments. I have extensive experience in trans-Atlantic relations and maintain a global network of contacts from a variety of industries. Since becoming a freelancer in 2010, my services have focussed on three core business areas:
1) Marketing innovative European defense technology to the U.S. government. For two years now, I have ongoing projects to support Danish and German manufacturers of unmanned aerial systems, undervehicle inspection systems, aerial fire fighting systems and ballistic panels to U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Justice, Department of Agriculture and Homeland Security Customers. This is a complex procurement process with multiple levels of product testing and a long project cycle. Projects ranged in an order of magnitude from $100K-$150 million. These projects are ongoing.

2) Project Management and Administration for a German defense contractor in support of NATO and US projects in Africa, Middle East, Germany and the Balkan region. Complex projects have ranged from research of RFIs, to assembling contractor teams, to due diligence/compliance, to bidding and execution of contracts in complex environments. Construction, Food Services, Vehicle Leasing and Medical Device Sales/Service. Projects ranged in an order of magnitude from $50K-$20million. These projects are ongoing.

3) Consulting for Executive Search and Management Audits for a global network of consultants on an exclusive basis. Support for decision makers in automotive, life science, IT and FMCG industries. I have assisted the recruitment and selection process of key executives as well as business partners. Most projects involve complex cross border assignments. These projects are ongoing.


Additionally, I have an extensive background in managing international Non-Profit Organizations. I am currently the Vice President of the European Department of the Association of the U.S. Army and served as president of the award winning Rhein Main Chapter of the Association of the U.S.Army from 2010-2013. I have served on the European board of the University of South Carolina (Darla Moore School of Business) Alumni group since 1996 and assist the university staff on European projects relating to recruiting, current students , alumni and corporate alliances. For the last 15 years, I have served in various officer positions at American Chamber of Commerce in Germany and American German Business Club.
