During my time at the Institute, I have used a number of different programmes for prototype generation, such as Matlab and LTspice as well as PLC Laboratory (Electrical Machines and Automatic Control I), and thereby learned a lot about the systems development process. In a chip design laboratory project, I developed, as part of a team, an application-specific integrated circuit, processing all steps of hardware and software development from conception to functional prototype. Here, a particularly important factor has been to realise that a smooth start-up and tests must already begin at the system specification and have to be respected in each step. While the CAN bus served as interface, Vector CANalyser was used for the development.
I gained further experiences in the automotive development environment during my work as Testing assistant with the automotive engineering Motortech. In accordance with my personal profile, I was entrusted tasks such as the independent drafting of microelectronics-based regulations for a laboratory test bench and the commissioning. While the CAN bus served as interface, Vector CANalyser was used for the development. Furthermore, here I could already gain initial experience with requirement engineering tools as well as with the application of TargetLink. On this occasion, through close cooperation with colleagues from different departments, I learned about the complexity of automotive development.
