GSS is a private equity backed start-up organisation. The business is a product organisation providing e2e transaction screening for cross-border payments in a cloud native platform. The organisation moved into a product build phase in Jan 22 and required teams, processes, tools, and technology to be established.

Responsible for supporting the CTO & CPO to establish and drive an agile organisation. Iteratively building a lean organisation, driven by metrics and automation to ensure we deliver a high quality, modern and a cost-efficient product.

Accountable for technical delivery & associated test activities as part of a transformation programme to implement a single and highly scalable end-to-end digital payment journey for a portfolio of SMEs in the DACH region.
Key role within a greenfield environment, instrumental in assembly of teams, processes, and infrastructure to support the delivery. Focused on supporting platform build and embedding initial processes to stand up each new application. Reported at C-Suite level on test strategy, vision, and budgetary control (€3-5m pa).
Instrumental in transitioning to scaled agile with feature-based teams with a clear focus on minimising time to market, releasing when ready, embedding quality standards into the process, increasing test automation, and enabling a full functioning CI/CD pipeline.
Assembled and led a distributed test team of 100+ resources, working within a ‘follow-the-sun’ model.
Key contributions and successes:
• Key role as part of the leadership team leading design and implementation of SAFe into the business
• Spearheaded key test process improvements and transformation on testing to support SAFe delivery
• Ran tender processes and evaluated multiple tenders for testing partners to support the test delivery
• Vendor management including transition of services, dispute remediation and relationship closure
• Established and fully embedded new on-prem/cloud environments to support dev, test & operations.
• Articulated the path to production and release engineering principles to create a path to production
