I helped the team to build and publish a business critical end user application. My role was an Android expert, providing the experience for robust app architecture and good development practices. I implemented a major part of the app’s functionality, guided junior colleagues, and formulated release procedures.

I worked in the Zalando Lounge team where in addition to new feature development I strived to improve code quality and the team’s code review practices, participated in app releasing and monitoring, and mentored junior colleagues. I worked in close co-operation with marketing department to implement and support features driving user acquisition and activation.

Feature development for an Android application used to control kitchen appliances with Bluetooth connectivity. Our team worked in tandem to implement support for an upcoming device model for both Android and iOS. My tasks included implementing new user flows, implementing and debugging Bluetooth connectivity with a device prototype, and a senior role in guiding colleagues on Android and RxJava best practices.

I worked on a project for a major German news publisher to implement a modern version of an Android news reader application, which was to be pre-installed on devices for European markets on a large scale. In addition to implementing new features, my work included specifying and developing a Content Provider interface for other applications to access recommended content.

3/2015 – 2/2016

Football application for live scores and comprehensive statistics from various European leagues. The application included phone and tablet versions pre-installed on millions of devices, with a focus on highlighting new device capabilities. I worked remotely for a team in London with regular on-site visits, later taking on the role of lead developer on the project.

11/2009 – 3/2015

At Futurice I was a consultant in over a dozen projects for a multitude of international customers, implementing services reaching millions of users. I built applications for Symbian, MeeGo, Windows 8, Android, and embedded car systems. My usual role was senior/lead developer with additional tasks including project proposal evaluation, feature planning, testing and releasing, knowledge sharing, and so forth.
