Designed, configured and maintained a set of standardized environments on GCP to speed up, simplify and automate the process of rolling out applications to these environments. I created and maintained a solution utilizing terraform, ArgoCD and Airflow for spinning up reproducible environments including k8s cluster and several services running in it. There were 2 parts in the solution. One was managing the application code and Kubernetes manifests with ArgoCD and CI/CD pipelines in GitLab. The other was managing the infrastructure with Terraform.

Started greenfield project, was involved in architecture development, being responsible for the full lifecycle of a spring-based application for the transportation costs calculation, paths planning and volumes prediction. Configuring Spring Cache with Redis to avoid unnecessary database access and repeated calculation. Creating dashboards using Prometheus and Grafana for microservices deployed in AWS. Managing AWS infrastructure with Terraform running in Jenkins pipelines. Implementing Spring boot microservices interacting through the Kafka cluster. Was supervising and training 2 java junior developers. Utilizing DevOps best practices and spreading them among team members. Writing javadoc and documentation about architecture in confluence. Communication with international shareholders. Storing artifacts in Nexus.

Application Development

6/2019 – 8/2021

Bank’s scoring microservice. Developed scoring and scum detection microservice from scratch to stable application. Realtime report creation based on data for multiple sources. Using Java EE, Spring Boot with Spring Integration’s messaging support for integration with external systems via declarative adapters. User container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes (with Helm), Openshift and AKS. Created scripts on Python for CI pipelines in GitLab for application roll out to OpenShift. Did unit/integration/smoke/load testing. Did bug tracking in Jira. Used the Atlassian family products.
