Strategic study to identify benefits of TARGET2-Securities (T2S) models for Investment Banks following the launch of the ECB platform. The study analysed how European and non-European Investment Banks and Custodian Banks are adapting their strategy following the launch of T2S. My role was to identify the different models possible with T2S and analyse the benefits of each model. This strategic project analysed the strengths and weaknesses of each model as well as opportunities for Investment and Custodian banks.

Clearstream Banking Luxembourg (CBL) is an International Central Securities Depository (I-CSD) that provides post-trade infrastructure and securities services to the international financial market.
I worked on 2 large programs at CBL, managing multiple project streams that consisted at peak times of 100 FTEs spread over multiple locations. One T2S program harmonized the asset servicing offering across different entities in Luxembourg and Germany. The other program put in place a new instruction life-cycle and position management system that handles 40% of Europe’s settlement volume in T2S. This program impacted multiple entities of the group and was delivered with a team across multiple locations, including a large offshore team. My mission started from the ideation phase until successful deployment in T2S.

Role: Stream Lead PMO office
I followed up on a portfolio of projects together with my Accenture team to support a strategic decommissioning program impacting several departments of the bank. As PMO we rolled out the decommissioning approach to be followed, collected necessary data on the as-is, provided necessary support to the various project teams, followed up and reported on progress, logged and monitored risks and issues, managed changes, managed dependencies, and prepared the Steering Committee presentations for management.

Role: PMO
My role as PMO was to follow-up and report on the budget of the program, prepare Steering Committee presentation material, organize and facilitate project workshops. In the PMO office we also compiled program related financial and KPI information and managed changes, dependencies, risks and issues.

Key takeaways Settlement Operations experience: I gained a good business understanding of clearing, settlement and custody during my time in the Settlement Operations team. The daily cross-divisional interactions with various teams such as Corporate Actions, Network Management, Treasury and Front Office helped me to gain a broader business view and have a multi angle view on clearing, settlement and custody services. This proved to be very useful throughout my career.

Euroclear Bank is an International Central Securities Depository (I-CSD) and a global provider of Financial Market Infrastructure services.
During my time at Euroclear I worked as Settlement market expert on several European markets, UK & Ireland markets and on CCP activity. My role was to manage the day-to-day settlement activity, resolve internal and external queries, support projects as market expert and do in depth analysis on settlement topics. This required to coordinate daily with European CSDs, Central Banks, clients, and other divisions of the bank.
During my time at Euroclear I also worked in the Securities Lending and Borrowing team. I was both responsible for the team coordination as well as the daily operational activity. This included handling asset servicing related activity such as corporate actions impact on lent and borrowed positions and managing buy-ins impact.
