Molecular Biologist

I have a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology and I am specialized in the study of signalling pathways involved in chemotherapy resistance, obtaining experience in working with cell cultures using a variety of molecular biology methodologies.

I would want to work as a research scientist in a company where I could fulfill my curiosity developping and improving techniques in the field of biomedical research but also where I can apply my theoretical knowledge. Moreover, working in a company with a personal environment, a broad spectrum of tasks, where I can find a challenge every day, equally appeals to me.

Technical skills in vitro: RNA/protein extraction, PCR, TaqMan RT-PCR, Western blotting, protein immunoprecipitation, cell migration assays, proliferation assays, soft agar assays, cancer cell culture, immunofluorescence (IF) staining, cell transfection, confocal and fluorescence microscopy, FACS analysis.
Technical skills in vivo:
• Drosophila melanogaster: maintenance, breeding, dissection, immunohistochemistry, evaluation of neurological status.
• Wistar rats: maintenance, surgery (occlusion of the middle cerebral artery), evaluation of neurological status before and after injury, blood extraction, sedation techniques, dissection techniques and organ extraction.
