We seek a skilled Cloud Cost Optimization Specialist with expertise in managing cloud expenses and optimizing
costs across various cloud platform. Someone who is promoting FinOps principles, best practices, and culture to
enhance our organization's understanding of cloud spend and optimization opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of cloud technologies, scripting, and automation for cost optimization. You'll lead the development of our FinOps strategy, creating a comprehensive cost optimization framework and governance mechanism for GCP and Azure. As part of the Finance team, you'll analyze, optimize, and manage public cloud costs, collaborating closely with product lines and cloud service providers.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop clear reporting metrics to control cloud service usage and billing, including show-back/chargeback reports from provider and consumer viewpoints (e.g., build a BI and Analytical solution to track costs). Establish governance frameworks for usage and spend optimization.
• Monitor public cloud costs for GCP and Azure, implementing cost optimization frameworks and governance mechanisms. Identify opportunities for improvement through data-driven analysis and automated reporting, including managing spending budgets and alerts.
• Optimize cloud costs by leveraging discount models, analyzing potential savings, and implementing measures like reserved instances and resource-level optimizations. Develop automation strategies. Maintain awareness of cloud spend footprint and detect unusual consumption.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure capacity and demand forecasts, collaborating with product lines and program levels. Analyze trends and factors influencing cloud spend. Define and track cloud cost performance KPIs against benchmarks.
• Align with product management on Finance product requirements & align with product management on requirements for tenant billing.
• Implement continuous cost optimization strategies and governance measures, including tagging standards for GCP and Azure. Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, finance, and business functions to identify service improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to bring increased business value through a holistic understanding of diverse needs. Have a team-focused approach.
• Manage relationship with Cloud Service Providers
• Demonstrate critical thinking and growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems.
• Enable team members through training and documentation.
• Work on creating a service cost model for internal customers in the hybrid (private) cloud environment, in collaboration with the product owner.

Must-have-Skills:
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with public/private cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, etc.).
• Good knowledge of Google Cloud (GCP) services
• Expertise in scripting and automating cost and billing reports for at least one public cloud.
• Proficiency in tools such as Azure Cost Management, Azure Cost Management & Billing, Policy,
Budgets, Advisor, and GCP Cloud Billing Reports.
• Experience with capacity forecasting, cloud cost optimization techniques, and Azure services.
• FinOps Practitioner certifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related field (such as Computer Science, Engineering)
• Fluent English in speech and writing (at least C1)
• Fluent German in speech and writing (at least C1)

Nice-to-have Skills:
• Fundamental knowledge in Finance
• Hands-on experience with GCP environment, including navigating resources, configuration tasks, and
anomaly investigation.
• Foundational public cloud certification (Google CDL or Azure AZ-900)
• Architect/Administrator experience with multiple clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with CloudHealth cost management platform
• Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI) tools like Tableau.
• Practical knowledge of SQL, with experience in drafting and running SQL data sets.
