Für einen unserer Kunden aus der Versicherungsbranche, suchen wir aktuell einen Linux Server System Management Engineer für den Standort Köln:

Primary Tasks and responsibilities:

Management and optimization of existing Linux
server landscape
2nd and 3rd level support (troubleshooting,
performance tuning, incident and change
management) of Linux Servers. Prepare and execute
planned maintenance/upgrades (security patching,
operating system and tool upgrades, ...)
Continues improvement, specially by implementing
automation with puppet and rundeck
Comply Audit/Security/Compliance requirements to
the existing Linux landscape
OS Preparation and Development for application
environments (e.g. Oracle, SAP)
Support customer to develop individual solutions
Scoping of new projects and project support (local
and global)
Cloud migration support

Methodology / certification requirements

RedHat Advanced Linux
CIS Compliance
Advanced course work in technical systems plus
continued education in technical disciplines is
Additional certification is a plus

Language Requirements

Local language German for Germany + English
fluent (mandatory)

Technical requirements 1

In depth technology knowledge of LINUX (preferable
Extensive experiences with RUNDECK and
PUPPET (config management and automation)
Linux architecture knowhow, able to create versions
(e.g. migration scenarios)

Technical requirements 2

In depth Security knowledge (CIS Compliance,
encryption in transit/in rest, Bastion enabling, DMZ,
secure protocols)
Performance issues, performance monitoring,
planning and tuning in complex environments
In depth technology knowledge of LDAP (Oracle
Familiar with vcenter
General understanding of SAP and ORACLE on
Scripting language skills (Python or Perl, Shell)
Technical writing skills to provide proper
documentation according to internal and external
Knowledge auf Multipath and SAN Zoning is a plus

Non-technical requirements

Excellent customer service, interpersonal,
communication and team collaboration skills, able to
communicate with customer as well as with
Negotiation skills
Strong tracking, coordination and project planning
Ability to identify and implement process and/or
application improvements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks
with limited supervision. Ability to work effectively
under pressure
Some flexibility in working hours is required
(occasional work outside of normal working hours or
weekend/holiday work)
On-call permanency (standby) is possible
Quick learner, motivated self-starter
Able to follow change management procedures and
internal guidelines. Able to work in a global team and
in a multiple cultural environment.
