Technical lead of a smaller team of developers in charge of a family of products for delivering
confidential documents across various entities within the Swiss healthcare sector.
On the one hand tackling challenges of maintaining, solving production issues and cloud
migration of legacy products with little documentation. On the other hand creating designs and
preparing environments for new greenfield products deployed to Azure cloud and using the
latest serverless architecture.
Highlights: Defining tasks for more junior developers, supporting them in poorly structured tasks
to gain as good team performance as possible. Opportunity to deal with cloud-specific issues
and try FaaS.
Technologies used: Java 11, Azure Function, Spring Cloud Function, Spring Integration,
WebFlux, Spring Boot, docker-compose, Apache Karaf (OSGi), Apache Camel, Tomcat,

Greenfield development of a new digital bank in Hong Kong. Microservices architecture, cloud
deployment, back-end implemented in Kotlin and Spring Boot.
As part of the “cards squad”, I was responsible for integration of a payment card processor with
the core banking system and other banking services. I created software designs and coached
junior developers who implemented them. I implemented complex integration solutions,
deployed them and troubleshooted production incidents. Before that a member of the “common
services squad” responsible for libraries and frameworks reused across all microservices.
Highlights: Handling complex card transaction lifecycle (the interchange standards documents
are thousands of pages long), real devops with microservices architecture and continuous
delivery.

Architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of a product family for biometric
signature and related tasks with a customizable GUI guiding the user to enter the required
data, scan documents using a camera etc. REST API design, JavaScript API design, PDF
processing and rendering. Multiple projects of integrating these products in the environments of
various customers.
Separation of modules, replacing 3rd party libraries and using various cryptographic
functions. Integration of 3rd party cloud services. Specification and support for porting an
Android application to Windows (UWP). Consulting and support of international integration
partners to create solutions based on the products.
Highlights: Lots of refactoring as the product development span was years long. Extensive use
of Android WebView for creating flexible GUIs and integrating 3rd party web applications.

A large public sector project in the area of transport. Solution built from the ground up.
Member of the architecture team of the systems integrator. UML models created with the Enterprise Architect tool. At a later stage of the project participation in detailed design and implementation of a JEE application implementing a part of the architecture. Leveraging agile principles, Test-Driven Development, automatic builds, automatic testing and JIRA/Wiki collaboration tools.
Highlights: Creation of design documentation for the formal approval by a state agency. Collaboration with international subcontractors. Validating the coherency of different architectural aspects: integration,security, performance, business processes, modularity etc.

Many projects aimed at data integration and Service Oriented Architecture initiatives of customers mostly in the UK and Sweden. Direct customer communication, requirements refinement and documentation, overall solution design. Mostly healthcare and public sector customers. Designed application integration using web services and process orchestration at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.
Highlights: Key team member in the external audit carried out by a state agency at the customer site that resulted in obtaining permission to use the solution within the UK
National Health Service. Combining off-the-shelf integration products with custom Java code to fill-in the gaps.

In-house application development at a forwarding (logistics) company. Wide range of responsibilities including requirements collection from end-users, participation at strategic IT planning, analysis, high-level design, implementation of key parts and user support. Documentation creation and clean-up.
Highlights: Design of a new integration architecture, API clean-up and interface negotiation for establishing B2B data interchange with external partners.
Technologies used: Oracle and MySQL DBs, Microsoft and J2EE middleware, XML, XSLT, PHP.
