Projekt‐ & Berufserfahrung
12/2017 – 4/2021
TätigkeitsbeschreibungIn my role as a Design Engineer in Design Research and Development at Tata Technologies (03/2018 – 04/2021), I worked on automotive development projects for key clients including Jaguar Land Rover Ltd. and McLaren Ltd., specializing in powertrain systems and mechanical components within an Agile framework. I was responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies, using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs for performance and structural integrity. Alongside engineering design, I evaluated components for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and supply chain viability, maintained and tracked Bills of Materials (BOM), and collaborated closely with procurement, production, suppliers, and international stakeholders during technical reviews and project coordination.

Über mich
My transition from hands-on engineering to end-to-end project management allows me to view projects through two distinct lenses: the granular, technical details of the creators and the broader, milestone-driven view of stakeholders and decision-makers. This dual perspective helps eliminate ambiguity early, establish realistic timelines, and build mutual trust across multidisciplinary teams.
Core Competencies & Areas of Expertise
End-to-End Project Governance: Experienced in directing the full project lifecycle—from scope definition, resource allocation, and budget tracking to execution, quality assurance, and final handover.
Technical & Engineering Insight: A foundational background in design engineering enables me to communicate fluently with technical specialists, anticipate potential feasibility bottlenecks, and validate estimates with practical understanding.
Framework Adaptability: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) skilled in deploying standard Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid methodologies based on project complexity and organizational needs.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Adept at aligning design teams, engineering groups, external vendors, and executive leadership toward unified milestones and deliverables.
Proactive Risk & Scope Management: Focused on identifying delivery constraints and potential roadblocks before they impact schedules, maintaining strict scope control while remaining flexible to strategic pivots.
How I Approach Work
Clarity First: Transparent, consistent communication is the foundation of high-performing teams. I prioritize clear expectations, actionable documentation, and straightforward status reporting to keep all stakeholders aligned.
Data-Informed Decisions: Whether evaluating schedule variances, allocating resources, or managing scope adjustments, I rely on structured tracking and objective metrics to guide decisions.
Collaboration & Empathy: Successful project delivery depends on the people executing the work. I focus on removing operational friction, fostering collaborative environments, and creating pathways for team members to perform at their best.
Continuous Improvement: Post-project retrospectives and continuous process optimization are essential for driving efficiency, reducing waste, and standardizing best practices across future initiatives.
What Drives Me
Outside the realm of technical workflows and structured governance, I am drawn to creative storytelling, visual composition, and retro aesthetics. This creative curiosity fuels my analytical work, reinforcing the importance of perspective, attention to detail, and intentional design in everything from a process workflow to a finished deliverable.
Whether building structured project frameworks from scratch or optimizing existing delivery pipelines, my goal is always to bring clarity, discipline, and dependable execution to complex initiatives.
Weitere Kenntnisse
Methodology Selection & Hybrid Execution: Adapting delivery frameworks—Waterfall, Agile (Scrum/Kanban), or Hybrid—to fit project complexity, stakeholder expectations, and technical feasibility, ensuring rapid iteration without compromising architectural rigor.
Scope Definition & Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): Establishing clear project boundaries, decomposing complex deliverables into manageable work packages, and authoring precise Project Charters and Statements of Work (SOW).
Gate Reviews & Milestone Control: Implementing phase-gate governance to validate technical requirements, verify quality acceptance criteria, and ensure strategic alignment before releasing funds or progressing phases.
2. Schedule, Resource & Cost Optimization
Critical Path Method (CPM) & Schedule Baselining: Building dependable project schedules, identifying critical path dependencies, calculating slack/float, and actively managing schedule compression techniques (crashing, fast-tracking) when required.
Resource Capacity Planning & Leveling: Assessing team bandwidth, forecasting resource utilization, resolving allocation conflicts, and preventing burnout across specialized technical and cross-functional teams.
Budget Tracking & Earned Value Management (EVM): Monitoring Planned Value (PV), Actual Cost (AC), and Earned Value (EV) to track Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI), enabling early detection of budget or timeline variances.
3. Proactive Risk Management & Issue Resolution
Risk Identification & Qualitative/Quantitative Analysis: Facilitating structured risk workshops to log threats and opportunities, assessing probability and impact, and determining expected monetary value (EMV) or critical schedule exposure.
Mitigation Planning & Contingency Allocation: Developing tailored avoidance, transfer, mitigation, or acceptance strategies, along with defined triggers, fallback plans, and allocated contingency reserves.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Corrective Action: Employing systematic problem-solving frameworks (5 Whys, Ishikawa fishbone diagrams) during project bottlenecks to address root issues rather than temporary symptoms.
4. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Architecture
Stakeholder Mapping & Expectation Management: Categorizing internal and external stakeholders based on influence and interest to design targeted communication cadences and manage conflicting priorities.
Technical-to-Executive Translation: Converting complex technical blockers, architectural decisions, and design changes into high-level risk summaries and business impact assessments for executive leadership.
Change Control Governance: Managing formal Change Request (CR) workflows to evaluate scope change impacts on cost, schedule, and quality before formal approval.
5. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement
Quality Planning & Metrics Definition: Defining measurable Quality Metrics, Acceptance Criteria, and Defect Density benchmarks in close collaboration with technical and design teams.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Documenting standardized operational templates, workflow checklists, and handover protocols to maintain consistency across initiatives.
Retrospectives & Lessons Learned: Conducting structured post-project reviews to capture actionable insights, optimize team velocity, and continuously update organizational process assets (OPAs).
