E&I Site Engineer (m/f/d) for Process Plant Engineering starting in May in the Strasbourg area | 20+ months

TERMS

• The project is scheduled to start in May 2024 and will run for approximately 20+ months until at least the end of December 2025 (with the option to extend).
• Contract type: fixed-term employment or freelance project.


RESPONSIBILITIES

As an E&I Site Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a critical role in upgrading and optimizing our batch unit operations. You will be responsible for replacing old compressors with liquid ring pumps in Butadiene recovery, implementing new recovery and conditioning systems for water/acrylonitrile and water/acrylonitrile/butyl acrylate condensates, and ensuring the seamless integration of these systems into the existing infrastructure.

• Respond to inquiries and clarification requests from contractors, potentially with the support of internal experts.
• Review documents for compliance with site standards.
• Ensure technical interfaces are coordinated properly.
• Manage deviation lists and track outstanding issues.
• Assess technical aspects of change orders.
• Participate in PID reviews on-site and pre-commissioning activities.
• Contribute to the commissioning and startup phases, including preparation for training.
• Operate within a high-level SEVESO environmental setting.
• Engage with a Brownfield project environment.
• Work in ATEX-regulated areas.
• Handle automation systems including ABB, SIEMENS, and HIMA.
• Conduct construction activities without halting production.


QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical or Automation Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in chemical or process engineering projects.
• Proficiency in French (C2 level) and English (B2 level).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with industry-standard software and project management tools.
