TERMS

• The project is scheduled to start in May 2024 and will run for approximately 20+ months until at least the end of December 2025 (with the option to extend).
• Contract type: fixed-term employment or freelance project.


RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Project Engineer / Cost Controller (m/f/d) specializing in cost control, you will be integral to managing and overseeing the financial aspects of our engineering projects. Your role will focus on ensuring financial discipline and compliance throughout the project lifecycle, from initial budgeting to final cost review.

• Respond to inquiries and clarification requests from contractors, potentially with the support of internal experts.
• Review and process contractor invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual agreements.
• Ensure that performance bonds and other securities are obtained as per the agreements.
• Monitor the project’s budget and cash flow, providing regular reporting to management.
• Review the validity of change orders against the contractual agreements.
• Negotiate and finalize change orders with stakeholders.
• Maintain and update project schedules to reflect current timelines and budgets.
• Liaise with the procurement and finance departments to ensure alignment on project expenditures and forecasts.


QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Background in Financial Management or Business Administration is highly beneficial.
• Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP).
• Extensive experience in large-scale projects, particularly in a Brownfield or industrial environment.
• Understanding of construction processes and contracts.
• Experience in cost control and budget management, with a proven ability to monitor and control project costs to adhere to budgets.
• Knowledge of contract management including understanding terms of contracts, change orders, and legal aspects of contract fulfillment.
• Skills in financial analysis, including the ability to analyze cash flows, budgets, and financial forecasts.
• Experience in invoice review and processing, demonstrating meticulousness and accuracy in handling financial documents.
• Proficiency in project management software.
• Fluency in French (C2 level) and English (B2 level).
